When he gets back a little before tea time as promised, he feels… more at ease. More peaceful. Like the fresh air blew some cobwebs out of his brain. He puts Hannibal away, humming tunelessly as he enjoys brushing his horse- his horse- and feeding him treats, and making sure he’s comfortable and cosy in his stall, that everything is put away where it belongs. He knows how to take care of a horse’s tack now, too, he realizes with pleasure. Inside, the castle is pleasantly warm, and he’s just in time for tea and cake.
