Arthur sighs again. “Hours is still fast. And… you know how it is. If something looks too good to be true, that’s because it is. If people can take advantage of you and screw you over, they usually do. And powerful, older men romancing younger women is dangerous for the women at best, and then we’re talking about a vampire and a dhampir, and vampires are supposed to have huge prejudices against dhampirs… So… so I wish we hadn’t done the ritual.
